In this article you’ll find all the info you need.

Bag Ban

The festival area in Slottsskogen will be subject to the Swedish Police Authority’s decision of a total bag ban. This means that no bags are allowed to be brought into the public festival area. The ban also applies to handbags, tote bags and transparent bags. Wallets and small toiletry bags that fit in your pocket are not covered by the ban.

We primarily refer to the Police Authority’s information page for answers to common questions: https://polisen.se/lagar-och-regler/vaskforbud-pa-storre-evenemang/

– The size regulations for wallets and toiletry bags will be 10x15x5 cm. If you have a wallet with a strap within these measurements, please remove the strap when entering the site.

– Tote bags will be available for purchase right after you enter the festival area, in the info tent, in the merch tent and by sellers on foot around the site. These will be be sold at cost price and be cheap. You may NOT bring an empty tote bag.

– Sanitary products (including tampons and sanitary pads) will be available free of charge within the festival area.

– Exceptions are made for people who, for medical reasons, need to bring a bag. If you need medications, equipment or similar you may bring a bag. However, it is important that only one bag is brought, and that it is appropriately sized for the medical products you need. Please be ready to provide relevant documentation when entering the festival site. Feel free to contact us at info@wayoutwest.se if you have any questions.

– Not all Stay Out West venues go under the bag ban. Please see HERE to see what applies to which venue.

All items brought into the festival area will be thoroughly searched through. We strongly advise you to leave your bag at home.

The Area

Way Out West, as always, takes place in beautiful Slottsskogen. The easiest way to find the area is to aim for Linnéplatsen – either by foot, bike or tram.

ID-card

Important! Remember to bring your Photo-ID to the festival. This is to be able to verify that you are over 18 years old.

Wristbands

You must exchange your ticket for a wristband at the festival entrance at Linnéplatsen before you can enter the festival site or attend any Stay Out West shows.

Opening hours for the Ticket to wristband-exchange:
Wednesday Aug 7: 12.00–22.00
Thursday Aug 8: 11.00–22.00
Friday Aug 9: 11.00–22.00
Saturday Aug 10: 11.00–22.00

We recommend everyone who has the possibility to, to exchange their ticket as early as possible – to minimize queues. You can bring your ticket in your phone, as long as the screen is not broken (it needs to be able to be scanned properly).

Please note, the tickets are not personal but once the festival wristband is on your wrist it cannot be transferred to someone else. You cannot collect a wristband for someone else as the wristband is put on the wrist at the wristband exchange.

Approx 30-60 minutes before the festival opens; visitation starts. This is to be able to let as many as possible into the festival immediately when doors open.

Slottsskogen opening hours:
Thursday Aug 8: 14.00-00.00
Friday Aug 9: 12.00-01.00
Saturday Aug 10: 12.00-01.00

When the program in Slottsskogen ends, our night program Stay Out West opens up in different venues around Gothenburg. Our Stay Out West-venues are open until 02-03 (some days even 04), you can find the opening hours here. More info about Stay Out West below.

Schedule & Map

You can find the schedule and map in our app.

What to bring to the festival?

It’s ok to bring your own empty water bottle (aluminum or plastic, with lid) to the festival. You can fill it with water at the water stations marked on the map. It’s also OK to bring hand sanitizer and sunscreen (small bottles). Read more about what not to bring further down in this email. We recommend you to bring ear plugs (ear plugs can also be bought at the festival).

Important! We recommend you to prepare for both rain and sunshine. Keep an eye on the Weather Forecast every day and bring suitable clothing (but no bags!) to avoid getting soaked, too warm or too cold.

10% on food and drinks (for Premium wristbands only):

With the Premium wristband you get a 10% discount on food and drinks at the festival. Some exceptions might occur (our three fine dining-restaurants, for example). You can use this by simply showing your wristband when you’re about to pay.
