Kneecap is more a cultural phenomenon than anything else and if you haven’t heard of them yet, it’s about time. The controversial Belfast rappers create music for the superfluous, for the powerless and for people without a voice using, at least partly, their native Irish tongue. A radical statement in a time where that particular language is under attack. Kneecap rose to fame in 2022 after unveiling a mural of the trio atop of a smoking police Land Rover in their hometown and since that, life hasn’t been the same for Móglaí Bap, Mo Chara and DJ Próvaí. Riotous gigs in heavily packed festival tents, winning Sundance audience award for their semi-autobiographical film ‘Kneecap’ and releasing their long-awaited debut album ‘Fine Art’ – Kneecap is a rapidly expanding movement. Way Out West, get ready for the rising cultural force Kneecap!
