Disco, post-punk, The Fall, lo-fi pop, Arthur Russell, surrealistic yet tenderly confessional lyrics – defining Gothenburg’s new DIY indie-hero Jjulius is not an easy task. But on the other hand, not everything is meant to be easy. What is easier to describe is Jjulius unfiltered sincerity and his refreshing disrespect for conventions. A striking boldness that attracted the attention of influential label DFA who decided to release Jjulius latest two records ‘Vol.2’ from 2022 and ‘Vol.3’ from 2025 thus introducing his music to an international audience. This summer, Jjulius and his band consisting of Clara Flygare (percussion and vocals) Love Hultén (keys), Mattias Malm (guitar), Göran Agnetun (drums) and Mattias Rörström (bass) will bless Way Out West with broken wholeness!
