de clair is the alter ego of Clara Rudelius, born and raised in a tranquil small town in southern Sweden. Picking up the guitar at the age of ten and gradually moving on to the haunting, slightly out-of-tune grand piano in the living room, Clara discovered the music of Nico, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and Björk – who later became her main inspirations as she began writing and producing her own music. Music that is both subtle and empowering, with a minimalist approach to indie/alternative and folk, characterized by transparent and often provocative lyrics about the world’s injustices, friendships, memories, and love stories.
